Tamashiki Park is famous for its giant wisteria tree, which is more than 450 years old, but hydrangeas are also at their best from mid to late June every year!
The park is also famous for its approximately 10,000 hydrangea plants that bloom against the backdrop of the giant wisteria. The 1.5-kilometer-long “Fuji and Hydrangea Path” that leads to the park is lined with another 10,000 hydrangeas of various varieties, including gaku hydrangea, annabelle, and hon hydrangea, and the gradation from pale blue to purple and pink colors the early summer walking path. Visitors can fully enjoy the wisteria and hydrangea flower competition by walking back and forth between the lush green park and the promenade, and can also fully enjoy a full day at the Hydrangea Festival on June 14, including a rickshaw ride, stamp rally, and other programs unique to the area.
- In Tamashiki Park, 10,000 hydrangeas bloom next to a wisteria trellis more than 450 years old, allowing visitors to feel the change of the season in early summer.
- The 1.5-km-long “Hydrangea Road” from Tamashiki Park to Kisai Sogo Park and Culture & Learning Center is lined with an additional 10,000 hydrangeas, making for a relaxing stroll.
- Rickshaw Ride (6/14 only) Rickshaw ride will be held at Tamashiki Park on June 14 (Sat) from 10:00 to 15:00 (1,500 yen for adults / 500 yen for elementary school students / first-come-first-served basis). A stamp rally will also be held! Hydrangea seedlings will be given to those who complete the stamp rally◎.
