About 10,000 hydrangeas, one of the largest in Osaka City, will be in full bloom!
From May 31 (Sat) to June 29 (Sun), a hydrangea fair will be held in the 5,600 m2 hydrangea garden, which is designed to look like a valley deep in the mountains with a mountain stream running through it. On Saturdays and Sundays during the fair, a limited-period hydrangea store will be open, where visitors can enjoy hydrangea-colored soft-serve ice cream and other treats! Nagai Botanical Garden, Osaka, Japan Hydrangea Fair 2025 Overview

The Nagai Botanical Garden’s “Hydrangea Fair” is a major event in early summer, featuring approximately 10,000 hydrangea plants, the largest number in Osaka City. In the hydrangea garden, which is designed to resemble a valley deep in the mountains with a mountain stream running through it, a wide variety of hydrangeas will be in full bloom, including Japanese native hydrangeas such as gaku hydrangea, yamahydrangea, iwagarami, and utsugi, as well as anabells native to the United States.

The “Hydrangea Shop” will be open on Saturdays and Sundays during the period near the large pond at the back of the main gate. Visitors can enjoy kompeito (sugar made in the shape of hydrangeas) and hydrangea-colored soft-serve ice cream, and workshops using hydrangeas will be held.

Also, for the first time ever, a photo spot will appear in the hydrangea garden! The “Umbrella Sky,” where colorful umbrellas hang like a ceiling, and the “Wind Chime Path,” where you can enjoy not only the appearance but also the cool sound of wind chimes, will make their first appearance in the hydrangea garden! You can enjoy the unique scene of hydrangeas that are more beautiful not only on a sunny day but also on a rainy day.
