Koishikawa Korakuen Garden “Garden in Midsummer” Overview
Koishikawa Korakuen Garden boasts a history of approximately 400 years as a daimyo garden of the Edo Shogunate, and is designated as a national cultural property as a special historic site and special place of scenic beauty.
At this famous Japanese spot, lotus flowers bloom in the pond every July. Water lilies also bloom at the same time, allowing visitors to enjoy the summer spectacle of lotus and water lilies blooming together.
As a special event during this period, the park will open one hour earlier than usual at 8:00 a.m. from July 18 to 21 and July 25 to 27, when the flowers are in full bloom.
In the cool morning light, you can leisurely admire the lotus flowers that have just opened their petals.
In addition, on Sunday, July 20, there will be an early morning lotus viewing event hosted by experts, titled “Early Morning Lotus Viewing: Enjoying Lotus Flowers in a Daimyo Garden.”
We also offer a guided program where you can learn about the ecology of lotus and water lilies and enjoy lotus tea at a tea ceremony (advance reservation required, participation fee: 1,000 yen *separate admission fee).
On July 5, there will be a free bamboo craft workshop where you can make a vase (separate admission fee and recreation accident insurance fee of 50 yen required). You can make a charming vase!
