About 1,200 lotus plants of 26 varieties and 1,000 water lilies of 7 varieties bloom simultaneously in the Lotus Pond, a Japanese garden in Expo ’70 Commemorative Park. The gates will open early in the morning at 6:30 a.m. from June 27 (Fri.) to 29 (Sun.) and July 4 (Fri.) to 6 (Sun.) to accommodate the lotus, which often blooms in the morning and closes in the afternoon!
Morning yoga, food and drink booths, etc. will also be open during this period. Why not wake up a little earlier and go admire the mysterious and graceful plants?

An early morning lotus viewing event to enjoy the lotuses in full bloom, which can only be seen early in the morning in summer. The park opens at 6:30 a.m. instead of the usual 9:30 a.m. The pond is filled with 1,200 lotus plants in 26 varieties and 1,000 water lilies in 7 varieties. Visitors can take a break and enjoy coffee, cakes, and sweets at the “Morning Food & Cafe” booths, and on limited dates, morning yoga and hula dance performances will be held.
You can enjoy the flowers and events while taking a leisurely stroll by the pond in the crisp early morning air.

- Only the Central Gate and the gate in front of the Japanese Garden will open from 6:15.
- No entry to other areas of the Shizen Bunka-en and Japanese Garden except the route to the Lotus Pond until 9:30.
- Only the central parking lot and the parking lot in front of the Japanese Garden will open at 6:00 am. All other parking lots are open normally.
