Onoike Hydrangea Park Hydrangea Festival 2025, Shibukawa-shi, Gunma

This is an early-summer event where 8,000 hydrangeas of about 20 varieties bloom and look beautiful along the water’s edge. Visitors can enjoy the cool sound of wind chimes and Japanese umbrellas lending the atmosphere of a good old Japanese early summer. In addition, you can fully enjoy the different scenery during the day and night with the lighting up at night.

Onoike Hydrangea Park, Shibukawa-shi, Gunma Hydrangea Festival 2025 Overview

Onoike Hydrangea Park is home to 8,000 hydrangeas, the flower of Shibukawa City, in about 20 varieties.
On Saturdays and Sundays, free wagasa (Japanese umbrella) rentals and seasonal food booths such as Shibukawa hydrangea gelato will be open. Photo booths will be set up in the Japanese atmosphere to capture memorable photos.
Also, from 18:00 to 21:00, the area will be illuminated at night to offer a different view from that of the daytime.
In collaboration with Ike, a manga artist from Shibukawa City, an exhibition of original works and sales of goods will be held at the Shibukawa Civic Hall, as well as a stamp rally in the park. This is a lively festival where visitors can enjoy a variety of hydrangeas under the blue sky in the cool of the evening.
