Takahata Fudoson Hydrangea Festival Overview
Takahata Fudoson Temple will hold the Hydrangea Festival, a seasonal event in early summer.
About 250 species of hydrangeas from all over Japan and 3,800 hydrangeas from all over the world are collected, and about 7,800 hydrangeas including those on the temple grounds are in full bloom. After the middle of the month, large-flowered hydrangeas adorn the grounds of the temple. This year, for the first time, the “1st Takahata Sando Hydrangea Festival” will be held on Saturday, June 7, sponsored by the shopping association of the approach to Takahata Fudoson, and will be a lively event. The approach to the temple is scheduled to be filled with a variety of events, including mini live performances, a yukata contest, a local hero show, a nursery school children’s play parade, yosakoi, folk dances, and a fun raffle. Please enjoy to your heart’s content the historic Fudo-sama shrine, the colorful hydrangea, and the lively festival on the approach to the shrine.
